Category: Operating Systems
ReactOS 0.3.16 ReactOS
is a software project that aims to develop an operating system that is binary
compatible with application software and device drivers for the family of
Microsoft Windows NT 5.x and higher operating systems (Windows 2000 and later).
ReactOS is a free software that uses a reverse engineering process in the form
of a clean room as a whole.
ReactOS is written
mostly in the C programming language, with some elements, such as ReactOS
Explorer, written in C ++. The ReactOS components are freely available under
the GNU General Public License (GNU GPL), the GNU Lesser General Public License
(GNU LGPL), and also the BSD License.
ReactOS 0.3.16 Features:
USB support for mouse,
keyboard and storage devices.
AHCI support with the
latest UniATA drivers.
ReactOS memory
management module as an alternative to managing all memory settings.
Support for finding
ReactOS component errors using WinDbg.
Repair errors when
verifying drivers for some driver software.
Although the ReactOS
project is still in alpha stage, many Windows applications have been able to
run well. This is because the application interface used is mostly based on
Wine that can emulate the Microsoft Windows work environment that has been
running stable in the system
